I will deal with Delta Force – Akufo-Addo
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has assured Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II of his commitment to deal with lawlessness in the country.
The President apologised to the Asante monarch for the recent attack on the Ashanti Regional Security Coordinator by the Delta Force, a vigilante group associated with the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Mr Akufo-Addo, who paid a courtesy call on the Asantehene as part of his three-day tour of the region, said he had taken notice of the recent happenings and was working very hard with the party's leadership to bring finality to the issue.
He said he would not condone lawlessness under his leadership and reiterated his call to ensure such issues never happen again.
“There are a few things, Delta [Force] and other issues that are unpleasant, but we are working to deal with those issues to ensure peace and understanding in Kumasi, Ashanti Region, and the whole country,” he noted.
“I will not ignore such issues. The law applies to everyone in Ghana. I know it is of concern to you, but do not worry, we will ensure that everything is resolved.”
