Ghana FA settles on Kwesi Appiah as Black Stars Coach
The Ghana Football Association have agreed to appoint Kwesi Appiah as the new Black Stars Coach, reliable sources at the FA have revealed to Ghanasportsonline.com.
The Al Khartoum manager is said to have been contacted by the Football Association as the candidate for the vacant position.
Sources reveal a decision was made a week ago before the departure of FA President Kwesi Nyantakyi who left for an official assignment in Cairo.
Kwesi Appiah is also believed to have tendered in his resignation letter at his Club in Sudan hence expected to arrive in the country and take up the position he held for two years.
The Ghana Football Association is yet to publish names of shortlisted applicants for the Black Stars job but Ghanasporonline.com checks reveal the Association have settled on the former Kotoko player who will soon be announced as the new head Coach for senior National team.
The Ghanaian Football public have been calling for the return of Kwesi Appiah since the departure of Israeli Coach Avram Grant who failed to meet his task to win the Africa Cup of Nations with the Black Stars.
Appiah made history as the first Black Coach to qualify the Black Stars to a FIFA World Cup when he led to team to the competition in Brazil 2014, his reign was marred by series of player indiscipline eventually resulting to his sack as head Coach of the Black Stars
